BK's going on the March!
This is a personal post so scroll down for news. I was just accepted on the March of the Living! It is a trip of a lifetime. There are three contingents, High School, young adult and adult and during this trip you spend a week in Polan touring the remnants of pre-War Jewish life, the synagogues, cemetaries and you visit all of the death camps. The climax is the actual March of the Living, a silent march from Auschwitz to Birkenau on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust memorial day, wrapped in Israeli flags. After seeing the death and horror that is Poland, we travel to Israel where we will spend a week touring the beautiful country, and we will be there for Yom HaZikaron, IDF Memorial Day and Yom HaAtzmaut, Independence Day. On Yom HaAtzmaut, there is a parallel march through the streets of Jerusalem to the Kotel.
I am soo excited. We leave right after Passover and most of my grade is going. I have heard people describing the trip as one of the most defining experiences in their lives. Just for you all to know... ;)

Congratulations!!! This will no doubt be an incredibly moving experience for you. That's really something to look forward to. Please give us a taste of what you experience here on your blog when the trip is over.
Well, the trip to Israel sounds good but touring the camps, that would be hard I would think.
I'm glad you got the go ahead though since that's clearly important to you. Take some good pictures in Israel for the blog.
That is fantastic, what a unique trip and learning experience! Photo's, blogging, photo's. blogging, photo's, blogging......you get the picture.
You've got a bright future, lots of folks are proud of you BK.
Mazel tov! I know that it will be amazingly painful to experience all that is in Poland. My father's family were all Polish Jews. However, going to Israel will be a galvanizing moment in your life...
