The territory that today occupies Israel was purchased legally by the Jewish National Fund and various Jewish organization, during the times of the first aliyot. Jews had a constant presence in Israel since biblical times and began to return en masse in the 18th century. No Arabs (ARABS --- the term "Palestinian" did not exist yet to refer to any people) were displaced. Rather, the early Zionists purchased the land from the landlord effendis and settled the land, legally and legitimately. During the war of Independence, hundreds of thousands of Arabs fled, at the behest of the invading Arab armies, and were promised that they would be allowed to return once the Jews had been killed. Israel belongs to the Jewish people, according to every political, historic and religious right. To paint the Jews as colonialists in their native land is absurd. The Arabs have 22 states- the Jews have one tiny strip of land, consisting of less than 1% of the land in the Middle-East. The real colonists and occupiers are the Arabs squatters on Jewish land.Avihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06156322358503174356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092397679011227919.post-71988004882814660212009-01-12T10:25:00.000-08:002009-01-12T10:25:00.000-08:00Resistance against various states:http://bombsands...Resistance against various states:
http://bombsandshields.blogspot.com/

The occupation of Palestine is only possible by the fact that the United States government gives billions of dollars of taxpayer money to Israel, and the deep relationship between AIPAC and Congress.
This is not so with Tibet or Darfur.Jacobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10948653153111364737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7092397679011227919.post-82529028267464577182009-01-12T09:18:00.000-08:002009-01-12T09:18:00.000-08:00I don't recognize the right of any state to exist:...I don't recognize the right of any state to exist: I'm an anarchist.

The conflagration of Anti-Semitism and Anti-zionism, holding that protests against a genocidal occupation are invalid because they are truly a front for anti-semitism is paranoid and denies a much greater sense of nuance to the issue. It denies any legitimacy to resistance against violent, illegitimate authority.

Your fears have already made your decisions for you. Your fear allows you to condone the deaths of hundreds and hundreds and accept it on account of this rhetoric that Hamas placed weapons within these places.
So what about the ambulances being shot at?
What about the UN school being bombed?
What about the doctors being sniped at by IDF soldiers?
What about the human shieids that the IDF uses?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4333982.stm

The only people who might be coming for me are the state apparatuses that crush and criminalize dissent.Jacobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10948653153111364737noreply@blogger.com
